When I was queueing just now, I overheard a man standing behind me jovially trying to start a conversation with a woman who looked like she didn’t want to be engaged in a conversation. It really gave me a perspective and I thought of you!

You’re absolutely right about the time part, Erik! There are times — especially during a long transit or a long haul flight when I just want to be left alone. A few times people talked to me and I reciprocated. Times I could have spent on something else — reading, for example — was spent instead chatting. But I have to say though, I made so many friends and learned so much about life from meeting these new people! So I would say… time kinda well spent? :)

Having said that though, I’m currently putting on my cool face and headphone, staring intently at my laptop, typing furiously, keeping everyone at bay. Hahahaha. So I guess we all gotta find a balance? :)
