I found that our society uses this argument often to guilt-trip the children. “Your parents gave birth to you. The least you can do is to repay it by going home and help them out in the business.” No one ever asks you what your passion is, what you want to do in life. No. Everyone tells you, you have to repay your parents for bringing you into this world. My parents themselves never said this thing. It’s always the outsiders.

I remember feeling so bad when I first had this… thought. “Yeah but the children… They didn’t ask to be brought into this world.” I mean yeah of course, we would do things to please our parents but seriously the society needs to stop saying this.

I’m so sorry you had to go through this hard time. I’m sure it made you stronger but if I could turn back the time, I wish I was closer to you back then. I could have been your pair of listening ears…
