It took me 4 and a half years to open myself up to someone new after I broke up. Most of that time was because I couldn’t open myself up to someone new, fearing I would get hurt again. It took me a while but not too long to get over the relationship. We were so unhappy the last year we were together. You’re absolutely right though. There’s no timeline for this thing.
