Oh Jess dear, I agree with your piece. Social media has become so toxic. It's why I am very very careful on what I post on my Instagram. I understand the good intention behind this piece and I hope you don't take offence as this is just a thought and since I consider you a friend, I want to share it with you. Just a friendly discussion :)
I am a model and a yoga/Pilates teacher and I do post pictures of my body in my Instagram because well, I just want to share I suppose. I used to be 80 kgs and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just that that was when I stuffed my body with unhealthy food and as a result, I always felt sluggish and not good inside. I eventually changed my eating habit, switching to healthier food and exercised regularly. I ended up doing teacher training and now here I am, feeling good and healthy and happy.
I love what you're saying in this piece and it's true, people come in all sizes and everyone is beautiful in their own ways. I just feel like when you define real bodies, I am somehow excluded, if that makes sense. Hahaha. Please don't take it the wrong way. Just thought I should share it with you :) As I read your words, a voice in my head kept saying "so my body is not real?" It's a bit silly but I just feel like I should share it with you :)
I don't do crazy diet, I don't have personal trainers and these days, I only exercise about 15 minutes a day because of my hectic schedule. I eat relatively healthy and in moderation and I love snacking. Can't live without my snacks. Hahaha. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing the food for thought! Always enjoy reading your piece, love! And sorry for the long response. Hahaha. Hugs!
