Such an interesting story. I’ve never known about situational friends but I’ve done it pretty much the whole time the past few years. With my travelling lifestyle, I only keep a few friends really, really close. The rest, situational friends. But even if we eventually grow apart, we could still somehow connect when we meet again in different settings. Just in different level. I never really feel the need to have lots of friends but I do love being friendly. So I guess it’s also in the way we define friend and friendship? :)
