This is so true and wise. Sadly, the narrative of many Asian children have been different. A high standard is set upon birth and all avenues are explored to ensure the achievement of the standard. My brothers and I are among the lucky ones. Our parents have been very lovely and pretty much gave us free rein to explore. Not so much many of other Asian children whom I have came across over the years. Things are changing though, which is good :)
