What a heartwarming story. Reminds me so much of my mother who really understood the true meaning of unconditional. Interestingly, I had a conversation with my mother about sexuality once. It came about when she was discussing one of his friend’s kid who’s potentially gay. She was saying like “Oh my God. Do you think it’s possible?” The idea of being gay is very foreign to her mind as she had quite a strict Asian upbringing. I asked her then, “If one day one of us, your children, come out to you and tell you ‘I’m gay’, would you stop loving us? Would you disown us?

She went quiet for a while to digest the question. She must have never thought of that before. After a while, she said, “I will still love you and support you no matter what.” Well, none of us is gay but that was the moment when I realized I was very very lucky to have such a wonderful wise mother.

Thank you for sharing your story and teaching me unconditional love, Tre ❤
