Yess. I’m Chinese by blood, Indonesian by nationality. I’m basically complicated. I often find myself struggling to explain myself to foreigners. Hahaha.
Yes, I guess that kind of relationship? I realized that father and daughter tend to have a more restricted relationship compared to mother and daughter. For some reason, it feels like there’s this invisible wall in between and no matter how much climbing we do, we can’t really get to the other side. But I think I’ve broken half the wall. Which is a good thing. I’m grateful I’m able to have a good relationship with my dad.
Your life is so interesting! I’ve never been to Sulawesi myself. Chinese are generally taught not to be too nosey because it’s impolite and rude. But normally, once they get to know you a bit better, they start to be more nosey. At least that’s how it is in my hometown. There are people who I wish can just stay out of my business and mind their own. Hahahaha. But most of the time, they only have good intention so I try my best to see it from their perspective :)
Thank you for your response, Ivana! So interesting to discuss culture with you! ❤
